Students in grades 7-12 are served from six weeks to one calendar year at Baxter ALC as a result of the following conditions:
- Students who have violated school policy by committing a nonzero or a zero-tolerance offense.
- Students who have accumulated multiple rule violations.
- Students who have been suspended for a period greater than 10 days.
Students may request modifications from Dr. Garcia concerning the length of their stay, so that they may return to their assigned zone schools at an earlier date. The majority of our school population turns over in December and then again in May. When school starts in August, we have about one hundred returning students from the previous spring and up to two hundred by December. During the last school year, we enrolled and exited approximately 350 students.
