Welcome to Bellshire Elementary Design Center

Principal's Message!

Dear Friends,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Bellshire Design Center, a place where the talents and gifts of students are cultivated and celebrated.  We prepare youngsters for life in a fast changing and complex world.  Our students' lives and learning are enriched daily by the positive and challenging learning experiences the faculty and staff provide.
We offer Encore/Excel at Bellshire for gifted and talented students along with Reading Recovery and Language! programs.  Art, music, physical education, and technology are key ingredients in our curriculum.  We have a guitar lab, Orff instrumentation, and a computer lab that serves second through fourth graders.  With a focus on the arts and humanities, students make classroom connections by participating in activities offered through the HOT-ArtSmart program and TPAC.  Many community volunteers provide reading, writing, math tutoring, and act as mentors to our children.  The guidance counselor implements "Safe School" and "Character Education" programs with the entire student body.  We are fortunate to have Skyline Medical Center and Northside Church Ladies Group as PENCIL partners.  Senior citizens with the Friends Learning in Pairs Program and private citizens from the community are actively involved in the school.
Bellshire Design Center has a zoned population with first priority given to students who live in the zoned area and second priority to students living in the Hunter's Lane High School Cluster.  Students outside the zone may attend if space is available.  Students within the cluster and outside the zone, however, must apply.
Bellshire Design Center is a special place and a great learning community.  Working together, we build the foundation that insures children's future success in the world. We invite you to join us in our efforts to help our Bellshire "Eagles" soar as they reach for ever-expanding triumphs.

Your Partner in Education,

Dr. Laura Snyder
